Privacy policy

What this site collects

This is a small, personally-run consulting site. It doesn't sell anything to third parties, and it doesn't run ads. It collects data in three places:

1. The contact form

The ask a question form collects your name, email address, and message. It's processed by Netlify Forms and delivered directly to my inbox. It isn't added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else. I use it only to reply to you.

2. Google Analytics (GA4)

This site uses Google Analytics to see which pages get read and roughly how visitors arrive (search, AI referral, direct, etc.). GA4 collects standard analytics data: pages viewed, approximate location (city/country level, not precise), device and browser type, and referring site. It uses cookies and browser storage to do this. I use it to understand what content is useful, not to identify individual visitors.

3. Microsoft Clarity

This site uses Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session replays and heatmaps, essentially, how people scroll and click through pages. It's how I catch confusing layout or broken elements that analytics numbers alone don't show. Clarity also uses cookies. It doesn't knowingly record text typed into the contact form's name/email/message fields as identifiable input beyond what you submit through the form itself.

Who this data is shared with

• Netlify, who hosts this site and processes contact form submissions.
• Google, for Analytics (GA4) and Tag Manager.
• Microsoft, for Clarity session recording.
• Calendly, only if you click a "book" link, which takes you to their site under their own privacy policy. Nothing is shared with Calendly until you leave this site.

None of this data is sold. There are no third-party ad networks on this site.

Your options

Most browsers let you block third-party cookies or use tracking-prevention features, which will limit what Analytics and Clarity can see. If you'd like any data tied to your contact form submission deleted, email hello@ali-kamran.com and I'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If what this site collects changes, meaningfully, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. This is a plain-language summary, not a substitute for legal advice, and is scoped to what this specific site actually does, not a generic template.
